Justin Masterson

There was this kid I used to go to church camp with at Ludlow Falls and he was the coolest kid ever. Then I didn't see him for a few years, and when I saw him again at camp...two things were different. He was HUGE, and he was an amazing baseball player. At any rate...he went to bethel, then to San Diego State (I think), then got drafted by the Red Sox organization, married Meryl Ham (good choice), and on thursday he made his major league debut with the Red Sox. He gave up 2 hits, 1 run, and struck out four batters in six innings. He's back in the minors now, but probably not for too long.

Adobe Photoshop Express

Photoshop CS3 rocks, but for those of you who don't feel like ponying up the dough, there's always been photoshop elements. Photoshop Elements 6 was actually just released and I hear it's awesome. But for the even cheaper ones of you who want to do little edits to your photos and don't want to spend ANY money, Adobe just released Photoshop Express which is an online photo editing system and a web gallery as well. I've done just a little bit with it and it seems really really cool. It's a bit of a new way to think about editing, but it is really cool. I'd try to explain it to you, but the photoshop guys already filmed a little intro so I'll just point you towards that. Happy photog'ing!

Fry Fest '08

On a rainy boring saturday night, me and some of my closest were having a discussion about which fast food joint does indeed have the best french fries. Well the conversation got heated, then we got hungy, and then a life long dream of mine came to fruition. We hopped in two sets of cars and headed out to wrangle up a ton of fries. After going through as many favorites as we could, we narrowed it down to six finalists: Wendy's, Arbys, McDonalds, Dairy Queen, Burger King and Rallys. We brought the pile home and went to town on our feast of fries. After careful consideration, and heartburn, we have a winner. The undisputed 'worst fries' go to Steak 'n Shake...no argument there. In the 'mustang' category (fries with extra spices/additives other than salt, grease, and potato)...Rally's fries take the cake, although we do give honorable mention to Wing's Etc.'s Cajun Fries. And in the pure breed race, Burger King took the checkered flag. And the only reason it won was because it was the only box we actually completely finished. Must have meant it was the best right? My new years resolution was to eat healthier than I did last year. I'm off to a bad start.

Bethel Chapel

Monday morning I headed over to Bethel for a walk down memory lane. Trace, Jason, Dustin and I got the opportunity to lead an entire chapel for the school. Seth Bible and Todd Bruce also came along for the ride. The four of us Bethel guys have this neat history in that we all met at Bethel, played together in the chapel band there at different times, but all together for one year, and now we're all working here at GCC. So it was cool to take our new style or whatever you want to call it and serve our old family. If I ever get any audio, I'll let you hear it. But it was just a really special day.

The last week

Well I would have blogged last week, but last week went by in a flurry of blah so nothing got blogged about. But not thinking back, some things did happen.

-I saw the movie "21" and it was pretty good. About a half hour too long, but good.
-I finally joined the xbox live. If you're in the community, you can find me at "PopGoesTheArm"
-I got to hang out with my frined Bobby which I don't get to do as often as I'd like.
-I had a home inspection on monday...more on that later. You can see the photo's of the house that I took during the tours and the home inspection. Some of them are just for me to remember what to fix, but look if you want right here.
-I got to see Mark Nania for the first time since his surgery and he looks great.
-I did a photo shoot for Bethel's track team which looks surprisingly like the shoots I took for the basketball team. I need to stop doing shoots in that gym.
-I played for new community where Jason spoke and he, again, knocked it out of the park.
-I was in my friend Walter Sie......(I don't speak polish)'s wedding. Congratulations Walter and Meridith.
-I got a hair cut
-I took several showers.
-I get to do something fun on monday morning to kick off the week.
